Best Diets To Lose Weight Quickly - What Really Works

Best Diets To Lose Weight Quickly - What Really Works

Jump Starter

It can be so easy to fall for the latest diet fad because everybody seems to want diets that will make them lose weight quickly. Advertisers spend billions of dollars of weight loss gimmicks that only end up frustrating or disappointing the consumer. You might see an infomercial on television late at night and get excited about the prospect of losing weight, or many times the internet will display the same diet pill ads that get you to try the free trial, only to have monthly payments of .99 into eternity. The reasons that these advertisements work on the consumer is that we spend much of our time eating all of the wrong foods, sitting in front of the television for countless hours, and not doing the things that could actually help us to experience permanent weight loss.

When we see the ads, we generally jump on them because we want a quick fix. With weight loss, there is no quick fix and your desire to lose weight will take effort and work. The following are a few tips for what really works with weight loss.

One of the most important factors critical to your success will be a proper diet. You need to toss the junk food, processed foods, and fast food. When you are trying to lose weight, cookies, chips, and fried foods are not your friend. Low fat diets or low carbohydrate diets are often suggested to dieters, and controlled portions are also popular. Diet plans like Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, and Weight Watchers provide busy people trying to lose weight with prepackaged food options that control fat and calories to help shed the pounds. I often wonder what happens to most people when they no longer subscribe to the prepackaged diet meals, and if their weight rebounds once they are off of the diet plan.

The best diet to lose weight quickly that I subscribe to is not one where I pay any monthly fees. I simply spend more time in the produce aisle in my grocery store. A simple low-fat, low calorie diet is sufficient, and should include fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and fresh foods. You can watch the calorie count on diet meals available in the frozen food section of your local supermarket. When dieting, you should also not deprive yourself with food. Simply find healthy alternatives to foods that you tend to enjoy. I like ice cream and chocolate, so I have learned to buy sherbet, and add fresh fruit and lemon juice to make smoothies. I also crave chocolate, and high fiber bars or chocolate protein bars are great for satisfying my cravings. The trick is to find foods that are good for you and relatively low in fat and calories.

Your next step in taking off the pounds for good is to create an exercise plan for yourself that you can enjoy. I like to walk, and I am learning to run so I purchased a treadmill that I use at least 5 nights a week for at least 50 minutes a session. You don't have to spend money on an expensive piece of exercise equipment to start working out. Simply step outside into the fresh air and begin to walk around your neighborhood. Time yourself, and pick up the pace. Cardiovascular exercise is best for burning fat and calories, and you can do anything from riding a bike to swimming. Finding an exercise that you enjoy and will do regularly is key to your success in weight loss.
